My Education

Things I was taught in school...fractions. Algebra. The difference between a noun and an adjective. That there are supposedly three branches of the US government. That slavery ended with the Emancipation Proclamation. Things I was not taught in school....that the laws we live under are written in a language most of us don't understand, and are no longer taught. That slavery for some was transmuted into indentured servitude for all through the introduction of the income tax. That if you start a war on drugs that relies on a heavily militarized program of interdiction, with all the associated funding for personnel and equipment, you will have no interest in ending/winning said war on drugs. Same principle applies to any further militarization of....anything. That in this, the "freest" nation on earth, you cannot do the basic things required to support life, legally, without purchasing permission from the government. That blind obedience to authority will only lead to more of the same. That our system of taxation is akin to rape, or human sacrifice over a period of time. That we who are born citizens of the US are treated as legal fictions by the US government, indentured bondservants held by the implied contract of our birth certificates as labor collateral against the debts of our forebears. Voting won't fix this.
