Moron Education (Moron....More On....Get It? Nevermind.)

Everybody knows that free stuff isn't free, right? Unless instructors donate their time free of charge, universities donate their facilities free of charge, construction workers(who obviously aren't smart enough to pour piss out of a boot, otherwise they wouldn't work in construction) donate their time to build the facilities free of charge, that shit isn't free. So who's paying for it? It isn't the wealthy on either side of the political aisle, as they've set up a tax code that protects them from taxation, though some would have you believe that when we raise taxes, we're raising them on the wealthy. Ha. Fooled you, didn't they? It isn't the poorest of us...many of them make more on the government tit than I bring home in a week. Just spit out a kid, forget who the daddy is, and there's your meal ticket. It is not big business....big business pays no taxes at all...period. Zip. Zilch. Zero. The consumer pays those taxes. Businesses estimate their tax liability and pass those costs on to consumers. So who pays for all this free shit? The middle class. Anyone making between $40,000 and $1,000,000 a year. Yes, I put the figure that high, because at that income level, you're probably talking about someone who owns a small business. A mom and pop place, a small hotel or motel, a convenience store, a small grocery store. This country is going to tax the middle class till there is no middle class to tax anymore....then who's gonna pay for your free shit? This sort of begs the question....why do we not teach economics at this level in primary school? Why do you have to wait for college to find out how badly we're being screwed? This is where going along to get along gets us folks. But you can't be blamed, because its what you've been taught to do, right? By whom? There you go....free lesson for the day.

For Those Who Think Education Should Be Free....

...especially educators themselves....as soon as teachers, professors, adjuncts and facilities start donating their time and resources free of charge, education can be free. We wouldn't have this problem if it were something like hairstyling, car detailing, or yardwork.

I Had A Dream......

I've been told I'm an idealistic dreamer, that I have my head in the clouds so much I can't concentrate on what I'm doing. Its true...I do. I worry about things I have no control over....things that are bigger than me. All true. I clash with many simply because I see things differently and sometimes choose to say something about it....often its not what they want to hear. I'm poor and have little to my name....makes me a loser in the eyes of many. I've been called a lazy underachiever by people who never fail to push the "Easy" button. I would like to live in a country in which individuals enjoy equitable treatment under reasonable laws. Unfortunately, that country doesn't exist. Never has. I think it was supposed to be this one....I believe our framers really tried the best they could given the circumstances of the times to create just that. Thats not what we now have. We now have special protections for one group over another, based on some special circumstance or another...usually ethnicity or gender. Let me make myself clear.....I am not responsible for paying for things that I did not do that did not happen to you. Period. End of story. If you think that makes me an angry, racist single white man, then so be it. I did not enslave your ancestors. I did not overrun this country and steal it from the red man. It was here when I got here. If things keep going the way they are, we may just get the cradle to grave security that everybody seems to want so badly. I'm not sure we're going to like it quite as much as we think.

Whirled Peas

A suggestion to gun control peaceniks...the first best solution to the problem of increasing gun violence would be to get every single person on the planet to give up their weapons simultaneously, governments and police included. Upon reflection, that seems like an unrealistic solution. The next best solution, in that case, would be to arm everyone, preferably to the same level at least as local police. Go ahead...beat your plowshares into swords....Monsanto wants you out of business anyway.

The Prison We Voted For

Stealing is wrong. Everyone knows this. Its something that is learned in nearly every culture from an early age. In some cultures, the punishment for this is removal of an appendage. In Western culture, luckily, the punishment is less harsh. In a democracy, voting yourself benefits from someone elses pocket is stealing. I'm not sure why people don't see it that way, but thats exactly what it is. The punishment....the loss of your freedom, when your country goes broke and you run out of pockets to pick. There are ways other than using the power of government to fix what you may see as a "societal ill". Try finding those and using them instead, if you wish to maintain any semblance of freedom in your life. On the other hand, if your goal is to remove peoples freedoms, leave them with nothing, and control their lives from the cradle to the grave, then you're doing an outstanding job....golf clap.

New World Order Take Two

In reading on the aims of socialism, one of its stated objectives is to end all exploitation, which on the surface sounds like a good thing, but might not be as great as it sounds. What would one have to do to achieve these goals? Well, no one could have any stuff, first of all. The government would have to find some way to take away your stuff, whether by fair means or foul, through higher taxation, making it harder to find a job, so on. You're kind of a prisoner to your stuff, anyway right? You go to work in order to support all the stuff you want...your house, car, flatscreen tv, tablet computers, hobbies, whatnot. What else is the point? If you're not working for stuff, what are you working for? Somebody elses stuff. Or, you're working and scrimping and saving and not buying stuff, thereby not helping your fellow man, who is making your stuff. All this part of....a plan? THE PLAN?(Not sure),to bring about a peaceful New World Order. Looking into the details of this New World Order, though, the future doesn't look too bright. It means the reduction of the worlds population to 500,000,000 or less, most of whom would be drugged, happy servants of a small ruling class, I'm sure. You think I'm joking? Should I put my tinfoil hat back on? It doesn't take a whole lot of research to figure it out. The government has purposefully dumbed down education, watered down things like history, civics, and ethics in order to pull the wool over our eyes. We've allowed our government to move away from the equitable application of law and our Constitution, because, well....go along to get along, I guess. And anyone who dares speak up against it is demonized, marginalized, persecuted and pooh poohed(you like the astute use of literary devices...rhyme and alliteration?) like the Tea Party advocates and Libertarians. We become the tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists, when all we really want is retention of our individual identity and not have our stuff appropriated by the government and given to someone who did not earn it. I can decide for myself who I wish to help and who I do not without coersion, thank you very much.

Obama's Latest And Greatest Plan To Screw The World....

My rant on the proposal to raise taxes on corporate foreign earnings...
Are you people idiots or are you purposefully trying to tax consumers to death? I'm beginning to think its the latter. Sure, I understand the idea behind trying to slow rampant American consumerism....I mean, it supports something like a third of the global economy....who wouldn't want to blow that all to hell and ring in the New World Order? You do understand that corporations don't pay taxes, don't you? If you don't, here's a lesson....corporations estimate their annual tax burden, then add that to the cost of goods or services they provide. By calling for an increase in taxation on these businesses, you are essentially taxing yourself through the back door. If you do understand this, and are a proponent of this policy anyway, you have some explaining to do. I'd honestly like to hear it.

New World Order

Often, one finds that one has removed what is viewed as a tyrant only to have a worse one installed in their place. This can happen without even realizing it. President G.W. Bush was demonized by many as being an evil puppet with Grima Wormtongue whispering in his ear, and when Barack Obama was elected he was seen as many as being a kind of savior from the heavy boot of oppressive Bush. Yet Obama has done more in his 6 years as President to remove personal liberty and control from the hands of individuals and place them in the hands of government than has been done in the last 50 years. In that way, he has been a resounding success and has done so to thunderous applause from his most ardent supporters, who seem to support the very thing they hate, which is gaining the fruits of the labor of others without working for it. They simply do it with their vote rather than crack the whip themselves. The oppressed become the opressors to what is only temporary benefit. People have been duped into thinking that this comes from somewhere it does not. It does not come from the wealthy...they have been shielded by a confusing tax structure. It comes from the working middle class and the small business owner who provide 80% of the jobs in this country. I have spoken against this very thing happening since 2002. This has been orchestrated purposefully by those in a position to know exactly what the outcome would be using the ignorance of voters they themselves educated. I understand that this is like shutting the barn door after the horse has gotten out...its a brave new world we'll have to face. The New World Order everyone seems to be so intent to rush headlong into...I don't think you're gonna like it much. Rather...you might be shocked at what has to happen to get there. Everyone seems to think its going to be a good thing...but the ends rarely justify the means.

Individuality....

To what lengths should one go to protect one's individual identity? Is it worth arguing over? Fighting for? As a society, is it worth warring over? Since the individual is the smallest minority in existence, does that make them worthy of protection over the collective, as every other minority receives protected status, at least in this country?
