The Pot He Doth Stirreth....And Gets A Taste Of The Spoon

Ok....apparently the only thing I'm good at is stirring the pot, so here goes.....
At what point does the open advocation of civil disobedience become perceived as traitorous? I'm not talking about violence or destruction....all THAT leads to is not being taken seriously. I'm talking more along the lines of tax evasion, nonviolent resistance upon arrest...performing acts that are known to be illegal, but are not necessarily immoral or unethical. I am not entitled to anything I have not earned, but I am entitled to ALL that I've earned. That is not how things are in today's America, and we're not going to vote our way out of it. I've come to see voting as part of the problem....you are either placing a leash around another's neck or having one placed around yours. We are, however, taught from an early age not to question authority, and to do so generally brings a great deal of hardship. It's easier to just go along to get along...at what point does going along to get along become complicity? We ended slavery in America on a technicality. We traded it for indentured servitude. If soldiers are fighting and dying so that we can be free, why are we not free? Think we could maybe try something different?

My Country 'Tis Of Thee....

America, the land of the free....to work and give 15-33 percent of your paycheck to Uncle Sam, at gunpoint. Free to work where you wish, at a place of employment that has jumped through all the required regulatory hoops. Free to provide for your own sustenance on land not privately held....with the proper permit. Free to marry whom you wish...after having obtained government permission. Free to use property you own in whatever manner you deem fit...within approved guidelines. I feel my freedoms flowing though me as I type this. Its exhilarating.

Public Education

Government schools teach that which government deems necessary, and are therefore lacking in the areas actually required to do anything other than perpetuate government control. If you view government as a parent, and if a parent's job is to teach their children NOT to need them, then public education has been a spectacular failure. I learned nothing of any actual use in primary school, such as macro economics, civics or anything other than a socially acceptable, popular version of history. English. English was OK. Hell, learning how to do my taxes would have been a plus, let alone being taught that our system of taxation was deemed unconstitutional before it was finally jammed down our throats. There's something not commonly taught in public schools. The trend has been, not towards individuality and self sufficiency, but towards dependency and collectivism. Also known as, I believe, hell in a handbasket.
