One Of The Biggest Ideological Differences I See....

...between liberals and conservatives in this country, and really in general, is this: liberals tend to think that there is only so much pie to go around and distribution of said pie is better left in the hands of wealthy, power wielding liberals in government. Conservatives, on the other hand, believe in making a bigger pie and that the function of government is to ensure individuals the opportunity to make their own piece of pie and help protect them from those who wish to take it. At least, that's what they say to get elected. Unspoken is the desire of all politicians to get RE-elected. I myself tend to lean libertarian, being relatively liberal socially and fiscally conservative as far as the public treasury is concerned. At least, I think government should stay out of peoples private lives, regulate business only when necessary to resolve disputes and promote competition, and spend taxpayer money as if they could run out of it at any moment. Politicians don't seem to understand or care that the money they're spending does not belong to them. A large portion of our national debt, which now stands at around $17 trillion, is owned by foreign countries....just over a third of it. That means any future production by American workers belongs not to Americans but to those countries. For years. And years. The remainder of the debt, which is in only slightly better hands, is owned by US entities, both public and private. Which is really just a fancy way of saying we're robbing Peter to pay Paul. All thanks to a government hellbent on control and a welfare class too intent on voting themselves benefits produced by others. That is one of the major reasons America was NEVER INTENDED TO BE A DEMOCRACY. It is a constitutional republic with a representative government.  As soon as people figure out they can vote themselves benefits without working for them, they do it. And we have a political class that understands this and promotes it so as to increase their voter base and essentially purchase their reelection with other peoples money. The money they're using is a part of a persons life....the portion of their life it took them to earn that money....it's about time the working class in this country, the ones that actually produce more than they consume, start demanding their pound of flesh back from the crooked politicians who use it to buy votes from uneducated constituents....who are uneducated in part due to a government whose public education system teaches children not HOW to think, but WHAT.
